One of my favorite stories of Jorge Luis Borges is “Library of Babel.” The library contains all the books that have ever been written, but also all the books which were never written, books that are wrong, books that are nonsense. Everything that matters is there, but it cannot be found because of everything else; the librarians are driven to madness and despair.
Companies, in some ways, have the same problem: they have all the solutions for all the problems to come and also all the answers that would never work, solutions that go in the wrong direction. Everything to thrive is there, but no one can do the right thing because of everything else.
Employees then have to decide between madness or despair.
How to get out of the maze?
